Meet Our MPTC Board of Directors

Our hard working board is dedicated to collaboration — and continuing to evolve the success of the center.

Rev. Tim Higgins

St. George’s Episcopal Church
Chair
Tim now lives in Saco with his wife, Maureen, after 30 years in Gorham. He serves as a rector at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Sanford. Maureen is the project coordinator for a “Matter of Balance,”…a fall prevention program out of Maine Health. Three grown children are spread throughout the countryside…Maeghan just completed her 6th year as a pre-k teacher in Chicago. After earning her Master’s in Education, she will probably remain in Chicago for quite some time, having recently gotten engaged and with a June 2027 wedding planned for her longtime boyfriend, Matt, back in Maine. Garrett recently entered a 5-year PhD program at the University of Wyoming with research in Hawaii. He is studying Ornithology and Ecology. Maeve just graduated from a 2-year fellowship at McLean Hospital in Boston and is seeking an MSW.

Tim is very excited about our grand opening in Biddeford this past year. MPTC continues to respond to the needs of our at-risk population with resilience, intensity, compassion, and dedication. We have now expanded to York County with the same mission and values.

In addition, Jennifer is a passionate mentor and Life Coach, certified as a Relationship Coach Specialist from the Institute for Life Coach Training, a certified ICF Coaching program. Martha Gaythwaite

Partner, Verrill

As Chair of Verrill’s Litigation and Trial Group and having spent the bulk of her professional career representing clients before juries, she is an ardent supporter of the civil jury system and committed to success on behalf of her clients. At last count, she had tried more than 150 civil jury trial cases to verdict and has handled a wide variety of complex commercial matters throughout the country, including product liability cases. In addition to handling jury trials, she has decades of experience handling non-jury and administrative matters. Most of her trial work involves catastrophic personal injury claims; however, she has developed a dedicated interest in environmental law from working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Martha brings heart, dedication, and much-needed legal guidance to our organization.

He has a proven track record of strengthening partner relationships by identifying opportunities to offer additional products and services that deliver value and help them achieve their goals. He can see the big picture, but also gets into the minute details to reach that goal.
