Congratulations, and a very warm welcome to Jen Bonnett – our new, enthusiastic, and excited Program Director!

Here’s a message from Jen:

“Teens are at such an exciting time in their lives, trying to figure out who they are, what they want to do, and are learning how to be leaders. I love being involved with youth at such an exciting time and one so full of change. Working with older youth is really where I feel I can use my skill sets and make a difference.

I definitely think I have a great ability to listen to teens and really consider what they have to say. Teens are smart and they have great ideas. I find that if I give them the time and attention to express themselves, amazing things can happen. I also learned early in my prior Girl Scout camp career how to balance having fun while still assuring youth stay safe. This balance has been invaluable in working with both youth and young camp staff.

I have a lot of skills that I think would benefit MPTC such as resourcefulness, organization, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. I also have experience in program planning, risk management, volunteer and staff management, operations, marketing/social media, and working with teens. All of these skills and experiences have proven to be very valuable in all of my past work and volunteer experiences. I love the process of creating a community and watching the growth that comes with it, for every person involved. Being part of a family-type community is so important and I feel that MPTC is the kind of place that can offer a life-changing experience for the youth who attend. I am thrilled to put my skill sets to work at MPTC!”
